"Open Day" in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Exhibition "Wendezeit - Die deutsche Einheit im Spiegel von Künstlerbüchern aus der Sammlung Reinhard Grüner", Berlin
On the one hand, BRUNS designed the extensive "Open Day" event concept at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which is located in the former headquarters of the "Ständigen Vertretung".
Between 1974 and 1990, the »Ständige Vertretung of the Federal Republic to the GDR« was the headquarters of Egon Bahr's »Politik der kleinen Schritte«. The seat of the Ständige Vertretung was in the "white house" in Hannoversche Strasse in Mitte.
Here, in the roof studio, the architects Hans Scharoun and Hermann Henselmann planned the redesign of the East Berlin city center and the reconstruction of the eastern districts. Henselmann also designed the plan for the Stalin / Karl-Marx-Allee.
In the former roof studio of the architects 33 bibliophile exhibits were presented. They are part of the large collection of more than a thousand artist books that the Munich teacher Reinhard Grüner has collected since his student days.
Rooms tell stories. Because only in space an idea or a brand can be felt and experienced.
